Description

This high-limit control switch is a critical safety component designed for HVAC systems and gas furnaces. Functioning as a thermal cutout, this fan disc switch monitors internal temperatures to prevent the appliance from overheating. When the system reaches a maximum temperature of 160°F, the switch automatically opens the circuit to shut down the heating element or burner, protecting the unit from damage and ensuring home safety. Once the temperature cools down to 100°F, the switch closes to allow for normal operation. If your heating system is short-cycling or the blower fan is running continuously, a replacement limit switch may be necessary to restore proper climate control and equipment longevity.
