If the temperature reaches the safety threshold of 145°F, the switch opens to interrupt the heating cycle, protecting your appliance from potential damage. It features an automatic reset with a 30°F differential, meaning it will close again once the temperature drops to 115°F. This replacement part is ideal for fixing issues where a furnace is short-cycling or failing to stay on due to a faulty safety sensor.
